Aren't the canaries in the Atlantic? And while we're at it, I thought Panama hats were mainly made in Alabama?

Anyway, in return :

1. Which British seabird has the zoological name puffinus puffinus?

2. Where are the main sources of Peruvian balsam?

Ooh I know I know!!!

Puffinus Puffinus is a Manx Shearwater.

Strange things you learn when you take a liking to puffins.

The other one I don't know, and I suppose googling would be cheating...

Did you know that on Iceland, they roast and eat puffins?

I saw it on several menus when I was there a couple of years ago and the first time I was so shocked I couldn't eat anything at that restaurant because I was so disgusted that they had those lovely, cute and funny little birds on the menu...

A week later I was at the Northwest tip of Iceland and shot two rolls of film of the colony there. They were so friendly that you could get as close as about three or even two metres.
I need to scan those photos and put them on my homepage at one point.

Aaw, poor widdle puffins!

Still, I eat cute fluffy lambs, and adorably sweet ducks, so I can hardly get upset over puffins being on the menu.

Wonder what puffin tastes like...

Well, it's a fairly strange thing to do.

I have a soft-spot for water-fowl. Ducks, swans, geese, puffins, those lil black waterfowl with bright red beaks, just about anything with feathers and webbed feet, really. Except seagulls.

I'm not really sure what that says about me.
