Work snippet

One of my colleagues has just invented a fantastic new terminology; "HR Red shift" it's used to indicate that your HR department is so backward and stuck in it's ways you can actually get a doppler shift rating off of it.

Feeling better, then?

"Determined" would be a better description. Live, learn and make sure you never screw up again.

Cheers for the nod.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll manage.

At least you've GOT an H.R. department. Ours has been sacked (presumably by themselves)!

Has anyone in the company really noticed any difference?

I like that - a lot.

I suppose they could also be blue-shifted if they were so bleeding-edge in following every new HR fad in exisitence

St Bits IR (Inhuman Resource) Department are notorious for forever picking up on the latest trend from the Snake-Oil Salesmen Management Consultants, then spending near-infinite amounts of resource buggering about with implementing the new snake-oil and then dropping it and repeating the process as soon as the next fad comes along.

I don't think you'd find any other department being as cavalier with resource ;@)

That sounds all so painfully familiar; our HR dept seems to conjour up a new way to manage and organise us every six months or so. A huge fuss is kicked up about this, money is spent etc and then two weeks later it's forgotten.

And of course our trusty IT department would never do such a thing. One with who shall remain nameless but is not a million miles from this keyboard once placed the following in the Department Suggestion Box.

Please can we put the department Org Chart on a plasma projector so we can see it change in Real Time

Fantastic!!! heh.

Our IT department is officially 'MIS' everyone calls them MI5, you can't see them, they're never around - but if you try to do something you're not allowed to they're all over you.

Yep.
My company is cool; but some of it, well...
