I really hate computers sometimes.
NTL are annoying.
I am attempting a foray into smoothwall tommorrow to replace my clapped out '98 server - any suggestions?
I need several gallons of vodka.

you want any company or you planning on being miserable by on your own? ;-)

Not so much miserable as not anything; feeling rather drained.

But thanks for the offer, got an old friend coming around this evening for movies and chilling.

Old friend he say "YES!"
Quality evening and I have a copy of those CGI penguins (in Atlantis) winging its way to me (unlike the penguins). Long live the Sabre toothed squirrel!

Yeah, don't use Smoothwall. Use the fork from it, the name of which temporarily eludes me.

Such is the wisdom of MK LUG anyway... I've not used either personally, but there was quite a long thread about it on our mailing list a while back and there was a definite conclusion in favour of IP Cop.

Smoothwall took about 20 mintues to install, another 10 to patch, and it's not caused me any problems. I'm sure there are reasons to use IPCop instead but I couldn't be bothered ;-) I can even bring the install CD to the Calling if you need it. It certainly gets my recommendation though

Made an image, now I just need to get the motivation to install it onto one of my space machines.
