A Short History of Medicine

I have an earache...

2000 B.C. - Here, eat this root.

1000 A.D. - That root is heathen. Here, say this prayer.

1850 A.D. - That prayer is superstition. Here, drink this potion.

1940 A.D. - That potion is snake oil. Here, swallow this pill.

1985 A.D. - That pill is ineffective. Here, take this antibiotic.

2000 A.D. - That antibiotic is artificial. Here, eat this root.

Of course, substitute root for willow bark, and you've got a tolerable painkiller at most stages...

AND ITS GOOD AT CLEANING YOUR TEETH EATING TREE BARK

Another alternative.

Substitute cannabis for root, and get stoned instead. Pain free and relaxed.
Raspberry leaf tea is another pain killer.

RASBERRY LEAF VERY GOOD. ESPICALLY GOOD FOR MUSCLE SPASMS AND CONTASTIONS.
CANABIS BAD FOR ME, SERVE EFFECT IF PROLONGED USE ON MEMORY (PERMANT DAMAGE)
AND I AM HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO IT (NOSELEEDS SEVERE HEADACHES SOMETIMES VOMMITING AND IF HEM,P ON MY SKIN A BURNING RASH) SO I WOULD NOT USE THAT ON ME

Although...

...if you start drinking raspberry leaf tea, people are likely to start asking when the baby's due :)
