My sandwich and other animals...

Well that was a pretty squiffy weekend. And squiffy indeed. Squiffy. Squiffy. Squiffy. Ahem. Righty, well here's the lowdown...
Frday spent an evening of audiovisual entertainment with a good friend I'd not seen in far too long; the two films being Baraka which is simply stunning - no plot, no dialog, no characters but simply amazing photography and music... you need to be able to immerse yourself into a film and stay quiet, just watching it all take you away, or it won't work. I now need a full surround system and subwoofer for my TV - just for this. Also saw Red Planet which was also very good, one of the key parts of the plot - an insane robot - may have seen incredibly cheesy, but as a software engineer I can assure you that this sort of thing would, and could, happen. Good film.
Saturday, didn't get around to buying a cooker, did get around to vegging on EQ and going on a storming planes raid, no drops for me but a great day for our guild. :)
Sunday, parents and granny day, family pleasantness.
The weekend was peachy all in all :)

In unrelated comic news...

The WebComics I read are off to a good start this week; namely...

Dilbert - Is just being wierd again however
Robotman - is so true
Luann - is rolling through a nice storyline again
Sluggi Freelance - is back to the good ol' sluggy stuff, a great story
Sinfest - is too twisted not to love
Bruno the bandit - has dragged a decent joke out after floundering lately
PVP - is on guest week!
Penny arcade - gets todays comic of the day award!
GU Comics - you just need to read the strip to know...
User friendly - sounds like a dangerous idea
Red Meat - isn't updated yet, boo!

The world we are in a way we know not how...

Imagine a world, a world full of contrast and colour, a world of sound and wonder, feeling and sensation. Imagine falling away from where you are to explore boundries of places you guessed at but never knew existed, of sights that leave you stunned and sounds that make you thankful you can hear. Imagine them in a harmony that is a wonder to behold as the sound reverbs through you with each bass roll and clap of sound. Imagine horror in efficency. Beauty in destruction. Innocence in ignorance. Terror in intelligence. Life in concrete. Music in motion.
Now imagine opening your eyes and realising this is the world you've always ever lived in.

Now go and watch Baraka and learn, but only, only I say, if you have a decent sound system.
