Program Update

I'm updating my random WoD LARP character generator (for magi only atm) so that it a) allows Orphans and b) Allows you to set a limit for Arete for mages.
Two questions;

1) What are Orphans
2) Does anyone else need any other changes while I'm at it?

Ah; sort of like Hollow ones then?

They still have a speciality sphere though.

And do require foci to the same extent as Tradition Magi.

Ah gotcha; so no focus sphere at all; and out of tradition costs for them all?

Not quite.

Hollow Ones get no speciality sphere, and buy everything at out of Tradition cost.

Orphans are treated like Tradition Magi, but have no Reputation, and can choose any one Sphere to buy as a speciality Sphere at the reduced cost.

I think that's right.

Badger Steve when he appears - he might be able to explain it more clearly.

Hmmm, so purely mechanics and cost wise (which is all I really need for my program) they're mechanically the same as Hollow ones?

Yes.

Not really - Hollow Ones have a definite Paradigm - Gothy. Orphans don't. They generally are strong enough to Awaken on their own, hence their name, but aren't guided by any Tradition.

I think.
