Build your own adventure

You are standing outside a low stone building, there is a single door on this side that looks to be made of wood and metal. Behind you a trail winds back down the hill and away into the distance. It is approaching nightfall, the sun is tinging the sky and clouds pink with it's dying rays.
What do you do?

I will write you a "build your own adventure" style story if you leave a comment, just ask for a genre and give me a brief description of yourself and then say what you want to do, the rest will unfold...

The vehicles pull out and you can hear the Baron shouting to his men to surround the building, there is a pause then...
"Incompetiant fool, why didn't he stop her?"
Followed by a single gunshot.
"Quickly, find her, the crystal must be out of there by dawn if we are to perform the ceremony."

The corridor leads on, the darkness falling behind you as you run quietly down, only the drip drip drip of unseen water accompanying your travels until you stop.
In front of you is a giant circular stone door, three sections inside it, making four in total. Each is smaller than the other with coglike teeth. A gem shines on each one. They are currently lined up to point directly up.

The door rolls sideways on grating stone, you can fear the faint sounds down the passageway behind you of pursuit, there is a *spang* from a bullet nearby as someone takes a shot at you.

The door rolls aside to reveal a vast drop down a seemingly endless pit, a shakey old wooden rope bridge hangs on for dear life over it.
